LOST CHILDREN The lost children are just that, kids that have run away from home or been lost and unclaimed for a week. Playable lost children are from thirteen to seventeen years old (though NPCs can be as young as six). Formerly the lost group was made up of only boys and the occasional den mother - however since expanding they've begun to accept that some girls just won't be den mothers and some boys are even den fathers! Lost kids love to have fun and play, they also have a deep passion for causing trouble for pirates (though sometimes pirates and lost kids will simply antagonize each other from a far they do sometimes clash and fight, fights almost always have casualties). Since the real word is no longer 1928, the children have taken to wearing more modern clothing, jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, that sort of thing. Thanks to pixie dust given to them by the fairies, lost children are the only humans that are able to fly (it is also because children are not weighted down by heavy realities of life like adults are). It's a tradition that each child admitted into the lost group gains a nickname. The nicknames given are usually for a specific trait or item that the person has; i.e. mouth for someone who talks a lot, twin for someone who is an identical twin (the sibling also gains this nickname), or jitters for someone who is frightened easily or very energetic.
PIRATES They are the meanest, nastiest people that exist on Neverland - second only to the scorpion redskin tribe. Ruthless and greedy, pirates are well known for traveling the seven seas on their glorious ships with billowing sails in search of as much treasure as they can possibly carry without sinking. They are absolutely enemies with everyone on the island, save the scorpions whom they sometimes ally themselves with on mutual dislike of lost children and piccaninny. Being the ages of eighteen and beyond, all pirates make their homes in Pirate Cove and on the ships they own or serve on. Some pirates have eye-patches, some of peg legs, other have both; and everyone loves to pillage, plunder, ransack, and kill! They enjoy merriment and getting drunk, as well as reveling in pure violence, all the pirates view Hook as the best Captain to ever sail the Neverland waters, and though they enjoy using their versions of the Captain Pan lore to frighten and dishearten lost children, he is no hero to them. A pirate has many job opportunities, should he or she be a wealthy and already feared pirate they might become a ship captain; they could be a first mate to said captain if they have a good relationship with them; be a quartermaster, boatswain, gunner, powder monkey, carpenter, surgeon, cook, any job that a pirate might need to get their ship shape.
PICCANINNY There are two tribes of redskins (sometimes called Native Americans but the book always referred to them as redskins), the nicer of them is the piccaninny tribe. These natives enjoy hunting and will gorge themselves for six days and nights once a year to celebrate how well their crops and hunting goes; they are otherwise always on the warpath. Piccaninny redskins do not like pirates. They also don't like the scorpion tribe since they would greatly like to keep their beautiful land just beyond the Neverwood. This tribe is friendly and playful toward the lost children and will always humor a game if the kids decide that they want to play for a while. All redskins are very stealthy, other races have a hard time spotting or hearing them if they are on the move - they will also always attack at dawn. There is no chief of the tribe, though for a long time (probably over a hundred neveryears) ago, Tiger Lily inherited the tribe. She did not have children and thus the tribe functions as a community with no need of a leader.
SCORPION The second tribe of Neverland is the scorpion tribe. Scorpions are much more dangerous than pirates could ever hope to be, silent, ruthless, and with weapons soaked in various deadly poisons they are not a force to be reckoned with. They see no threat from silly lost children and fairies and instead would much rather drive the piccaninny tribe to extinction so that they might take over the much nicer lands to the north. They will occasionally assist pirates in their dirty work in exchange for vital tools, weapons, food, and other trade. They do not have a like or dislike for pirates and merely tolerate the fact that they exist at all - like many other things. They are rumored to scalp victims and hang them in their tipi as trophies, they are also said to have been great allies to Captain Pan - but none have ever divulged this information. The scorpion tribe does not have a leader, like the piccaninny, they function more on a solitary level than a group however and will only band together in a large mass during a battle or when it is absolutely necessary.
FAIRY JOBS Every fairy has a job and are generally named after their job. For example, Tinkerbell was a tinker fairy, she repairs and invents things (that's where the tinker part of her name came from). There are many different jobs for fairies, they include but are not limited to: water-talent, making sure that water is flowing where it should, managing that nothing floods; garden-talent, who help all manners of plants grow up; animal-talent, that talk with animals and keep them happy, they also wake up animals during the winter. Hundreds of "talents" exist for each different sort of fairy light-talent, fast-flying-talent, dust-talent, baking-talent, art-talent... If you need more job ideas you can always look up Pixie Hollow or the Neverland Wikia.
