“Avast, ye scurvy dog!” Corey leapt forward, splashing water everywhere while stabbing her short rapier forward into a non-existent pirate foe. There was a large grin on her face as she jabbed and slashed, her bare feet spraying water every which way as she hopped about and made various swordplay moves. She might not have been a pro at sword fighting, but she was not half bad as she practiced in the gully below Rainbow Falls. “Oh! Alas! The sky grows dark!” She shouted dramatically in a rather boyish voice as she stumbled back onto the island of the gully, warm sand sticking to the soles of her feet and to her legs and clothes as she tumbled back feigning injuries and then death. The fact that she had died didn’t last long however, because she was soon back on her feet giving her own fatal jab to her imaginary opponent. “Gothca!”

"Gotcha." Indeed, a foe hid in the shadow of the foliage near the foot of the fall. His eyes narrowed at the sight of the young boy, who had been running around this way and that playing pirate. It had been a very entertaining scene so far, and the boy was so caught up in his imagination that he didn’t notice the silent approach of a certain dastardly pirate and two of his crew members. It wasn’t hard to find the lost child in the midst of Neverland’s dense undergrowth. The little bugger hadn’t exactly been the quietest of sorts. Signaling to his men, he gave them a nod to move in.
Springing out of the bushes, Captain Mortimer Quinn and his two men soon had the boy surrounded. They would have tackled the kid if not for the little sharp toothpick he held in his hand. Mortimer drew his own rapier and pointed at the boy with resolution. His men rested their hands on their own weapons. There was no need for everyone to pull out their swords.
Mortimer smiled pleasantly at the child, waves of nostalgia smacking him in the head. It was one thing to be looking high and low for these children. It was another to finally snatch one. They’re pretty slippery little eels. His men thought this would lead them to Pan’s treasure. Mortimer was sure this was going to lead him back to the children’s den that he had so longed for since he was kicked out almost ten years ago.
“What is your name, my dear?”

And they surrounded her just like that. Her large brown doe eyes widened in surprise, she had certainly not been expecting actual pirates to show up – but what a pleasant surprise this would turn out being. A wicked smile skipped across her lips just before shifting into an obstinate glare. She would divulge nothing to this rotten codfish, nothing at all! He and his cronies would be sorry that they crossed her path. “I’d never tell a rat!” She proclaimed instantly taking flight, lifting from the ground with such ease that she was able to skip across the naked air like a gazelle; it was then that she would quickly slash at the belts of the captain’s men, aiming to cause their trousers to fall.

Kids these days…why are they always so hyper active? He had almost forgotten that lost children could fly. It was an ability that had slipped his memory a long time ago, having not been able to experience such an act of anti-gravity. Almost forgotten. One of his man managed to avoid getting pantsed, but the other wasn’t so fortunate. Clinging to his hacked belt, the guy fell over in a wail. Mortimer dodged as the kid came in for his belt and instead reached out with a gloved hand and grabbed for any loose clothing as the child passed by. Mortimer may be a bit on the skinny side, but he was much stronger than a child. Pulling the kid back [if he did get him], Mortimer held the child high and shook him gently. “Children should do as they were told.”

Drat! She was snagged. The pirate’s reach had rung true and he’d grabbed the very scruff of her navy blue shirt. She flailed her weapon at him, as well as kicked, bearing her teeth in a snarl. “Lemme go ya codfish!” She demanded with little regard of his feelings towards children keeping quiet. Her big brown eyes bore unto his all the hatred in Corey’s five-foot-tall body. She was not happy being so easily picked from the air, but with luck her rapier would strike true and give him a nice little flesh wound of some sort as a lasting reminder that he ought not grab a bull by the horns.

“ Ugh!” Mortimer flinched when the child waved his rapier, thinking he had dodged it. But the biting steel slashed his shoulder and he almost dropped the child and hit him. He restrained the impulse. Raising his sword, he smashed the steel into the kid’s sword, putting enough strength in it that it should make the child lose grip, or at least get a very numb arm so that Mortimer could snatch the weapon from him. Blood seeped from his arm at the effort. It might have been a deeper wound than he had expected. The other sailor ran over with a net. “ Subdue the child.” Mortimer shoved the kid at the other man. “ Make sure he can’t fly.” “ Yes Captain,” the pirate nodded and threw the netting over the boy. Kneeling down, Mortimer looked over Corey while he allowed the other pirate who had lost his pants to bandage his arm. “ You lost boys are all the same. Impolite little brats. It’s ironic that I used to be one of you. And some day, you’ll be one of us.” If there’s one thing he knew, it was that when he was a lost child, he had never wanted to be a pirate, and dreaded the day when he will become one. It was funny how that thought turned on its head the day he was kicked out. " Now I'm going to invite you back to my ship and teach you some manners."

A hollow victory, but at least she’d drawn blood. Momentarily satisfied she was indeed caught off guard as the nasty pirate struck her weapon from hand, it fell with a splash into the water of the gully. Without a blade to protect her she moved back to struggling and kicking only to be tossed unceremoniously to the ground and smothered with a net. “Let me go!” She snapped, pulling at the netting and looking for a spot she might easily tear open, when the captain leaned in close she spat a loogie in his face. “I’ll never be a pirate and I’m not going to your smelly oh boat!” A harsh glare was sent about the trio before she bit into the ropes of the net in a final attempt to rip it apart.

Mortimer stood back up and waved away the child’s yells. Upon closer inspection, the little lost boy looked kind of like a little lost girl. He shoved the thought out of his mind though, thinking it a trick of the eye from the blood loss. He bit the rope and Mortimer bopped him on the head with a knuckle. Gently, of course. He didn’t want to cause the kid any harm, really. “You’ll break your teeth on those. Not to mention all the bacteria you just ingested.” His men—one of them pulling his pants up with a hand—strung a pole through the net and picked it up from both sides, knowing full well that if they picked up the net by hand, they’d have bitten fingers. It’s clear this wasn’t the first time the crew of the Nimue has done this.
“Now now…it’s a private tour. Given by me. Cheer up, my dear.” Guiding his men, Mortimer began heading out of the gully, where his ship was docked just on the shore outside of the waterfall.

“I don’t want to go on your ship!” Corey shouted as she struggled to get free, unfortunately once the stick was applied she was fairly well stuck dangling, all wound up by the force of gravity pulling her down as the net gathers around her. Her protests continued the whole tip too, shouting and struggling and kicking, occasionally screaming in frustration. Eventually she gave up, and that was as she was finally carted onto the ship – not all the pirates were pleased with the capture of a lost child, however.
