We’re devils and black sheep and….and,” Alice paused, biting her lip in an attempt to remember…then it came to her. “And really bad eggs! Drink up me ‘earties, Yo Ho!”
She had spent yet another afternoon watching the pirates from her hiding place amongst the furled sails; an easy enough spot to get to when you could fly. She had told the den mother that she was going to go join the others for a swim that morning but clever little Alice snuck off to the cove instead!
For some reason she liked watching the pirates, hearing them chatter amongst themselves and make up stories about girls and fights, always referring to that thing called rum everyone liked so much. And then there was the song; the song that drew her back time and time again in an attempt to memorize all the words. Of course she wasn’t entirely sure what a knave was, but she was proud of herself for knowing the lyrics anyhow.
Even this got dull after some time however, and as the afternoon drew to its peak she decided to go explore a bit and try to sing the song for herself. Watching carefully to make sure no one was looking up she had flown away from the ship, heading for a close by island everyone called skull rock. She had never been there, but by it looked deserted so it was a good place to sing and listen to her echoes calling back to her.
She had been in there a least a half an hour now, and had managed to climb up to a pretty precarious spot; the “Skull’s” eye. Up here the rocks were lose and damp, and with her bare feet and lack of proper clothes it was even a bit chilly. But with the song to concentrate on she wasn’t paying much attention to all of that, knowing only that she wanted to reach the eye hole so she could look out.
“Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate’s life for maaaaahhhhhowwwwww! Ow!” Alice’s bare foot slid off the rock and jammed itself in between two solid grey rocks. She fell backwards but managed to catch herself with her hands at the last second, scraping them bloody in the save. Cautiously she pulled on her leg but a bullet of pain burst in her ankle at the tug, and with a whimper she quickly let go.
Yay Ivan to the rescue!!!! Oh and the awsomerific pirate song...wish it was longer~ |

With no memories of his past, Ivan felt that he had very little options in selecting a group to associate himself with, but he found himself being permanently labeled a pirate. There was no such thing as a neutral group or a regular citizen in this world called Neverland. He was certain he was an adult already, so he had high doubts that he was affiliated with the lost boys. Belonging to an Indian tribe seemed out of question to him, however, it might have been an improvement compared to his current lifestyle. The ship this unfortunate surgeon belonged to consisted of loud and obnoxious laughter from his unsanitary crew members, a strong and foul stench of gunpowder, and let us not forget the dreadful songs sung by the talentless pirates that emitted noises that sounded like the shrilling noise of a nail scraping against a chalkboard. Ivan placed his hand over his forehead and stared out at the skull-shaped island they had just departed from a few minutes ago. He tapped his index finger against the wooden sail mast and waited for everyone to settle down; then again, they had all the right to celebrate, they had just found another pirate crew’s stash in that Skull Rock and got away with it without breaking a sweat. He heaved a frustrated sigh, turning his head to the side as a bottle of rum crashed into the mast he was standing in front of and glared at the crew mate responsible for inadvertently throwing the bottle. “Watch it, will you?” He growled at his so-called allies and pulled his pipe out of his pocket, he decided to walk to the ship’s stern to spend a few minutes on his own.
Once he reached the quiet area of the ship, he started filling his pipe with tobacco and he pulled out a match to light it. He paused for a few seconds when he heard a little voice above him and seeing as he drowned out most of the noise his crewmates were making, he was able to hear this voice clearly. He held the lit match in his hand and glanced up to spot a little girl hiding amongst the sails of the pirate ship. Raising a brow he extinguished the match with his thumb and watched her carefully. He wondered why exactly she was watching them and seeing as she was able to fly; the doctor deduced that she was a Lost Girl. The pirate surgeon closed his eyes and listened to the girl’s adorable attempts at quietly singing along with his crewmembers. Slipping his pipe in his coat, he opened one eye and smiled, she looked so naïve and pure from what he had managed to gather after watching her for a mere minute. Even though he and his crewmates were lead by the ‘Robin Hood’ of Neverland, he did not want to reveal her discrete hiding spot to anyone and he definitely could not trust any of his crew members with this innocent girl. Hell, he was surprised none of these allies had betrayed his captain yet, as his views made any pirate look down on any member of The Nocturne crew.
Eventually, the young girl had grown bored of watching them and flew off to the island they had just departed from. He wrapped one arm around his torso and stroked his chin as he watched the little girl disappear into the island. It was a shame; he really wanted to see her for a while longer… as creepy as it may sound. She was different from the other girls he had met before, something about her made him curious about her as if they had been siblings with each other in another lifetime. She could possibly be his potential little sister… No, his IDEAL little sister! He clasped his hands together and chuckled slightly, his pale cheeks turning bright red, and imagining the interesting things they would do together as a sibling pair. He would entertain her with puppet shows, bring her food every day, share stories of his adventures out at sea, and protect her from any danger. He did not want to pass up this opportunity; he had to meet her now.
In little to no time, he found himself on a wooden rowboat rowing back to the island he and his crew had just left. Remaining vigilant of his surrounding, he made sure to watch the island intently for the young girl, just in case she decided to fly off somewhere else. Once he reached the shore, he pulled on his cape and held a mask near his face as a small grin appeared across his lips. Yes, he was going to keep his identity a secret from this girl… for what reason? He wasn’t sure, but he had also stolen a rowboat from his captain’s ship so keeping a secret identity was now a necessity. “Now, how to get up there…” He stared up at the skull-shaped rock’s ‘eye socket’ and decided to reach that destination from the inside. It was not the first time he had been in this cavern, so he somewhat remembered how to navigate around the dark cavern.
He couldn’t believe how long it took him to reach the correct ‘eye’ of the skull-shaped rock and just in time too! His eyes widened behind the mask as he spotted the young girl getting her foot jammed in between two rocks and almost falling off. The masked doctor dashed and reached for the little girl, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her back before she fell… in retrospect, she probably could have flown, but was probably in too much pain to focus on flying. Then again, what would he know about flying? He had no idea how pixie dust and believing nonsense applied to flight. “A-Are you alright!?” He asked the girl, his heart racing for some reason. He found himself incredibly worried about this girl and yet he had no idea what her name was or how her personality was. He kept one arm wrapped around her as he kneeled down and carefully dislodged her foot from the two rocks. Once that was done, he gently sat her down and reached in his coat to pull out a small first aid kit. Before tending to her wounds, he got a good look at her face and gently placed his right hand on her head, “You have to be more careful…” he said in a reassuring tone.
Ivan quickly cleaned her wounds and wrapped her injured hands and ankle with bandages. He stood up and looked away, “W-Well, I must get going… You should be careful, little lady, it’s dangerous to be out on your own,” For some reason he sounded like he was trying to act like a superhero or something. In addition to his heroic tone of voice, he decided to strike a pose and put his hands to his hips as he let out a very proud laugh. Why the hell was he acting like this? Was he too nervous that another personality revealed itself out of nowhere!? “Now! On to save more lives!” He announced out loud, his voice echoed throughout the cave as he put his arms out and he dashed away, but to his misfortune, he had forgotten that there was no form of stairway to the eye from the inside of the cavern and that he had to climb up to get there. Unfortunately it was too late and he fell off, crashing hard against a small puddle. His body twitched and he let out a very nervous laugh, “N-Never fear… I am OK!” He slowly stood up and looked up to where the young girl was and made an “A-OK” hand-gesture to reassure her that he was fine.
[That was longer than expected... Sorry about that. ^^;]

| [atrb=cellpadding,0][atrb=cellspacing,0][atrb=style,width: 300px; padding: 10 10 10 10;][atrb= valign, top] Alice was so wrapped up in her current predicament she didn’t even hear the hurried footsteps rushing up behind her, so when two strong arms wrapped around her waist she tensed up and sucked in a breath, about to scream. But then he came around to her front, still holding her with one hand, and spoke in a slightly shaky voice. It was an adult, and a boy one at that, but not one like she had ever seen.
She watched him with her mouth open in shock, trying to take him in and understand just what was going on. He was wearing a mask and a cape, but underneath that he was dressed sort of like Mortimer. So was he a superhero…or a pirate? Alice still hadn’t answered his question, unsure if she was alright or not, since now she was pretty sure she was imagining things.
No, she couldn’t possibly be delusional, because now he was sitting her down and she could feel the very real pressure of his hand on her head. This was enough to draw Alice back to the situation, her mouth closing slowly as her eyes grew wider in awe.
His voice was calm and as he wrapped her hands and ankles in bandages she couldn’t help but notice how steady he was. Whenever she got hurt back at the hideout she either had to bandage herself up or have another kid do it – and Alice knew from experience that lost kids were far from medical professionals. It was something of a miracle that they weren’t all falling dead from infection, really, but Alice didn’t think about stuff like that much anyway.
She decided she liked this guy, and after a little while started smiling at him, trying to memorize everything about him so she could spot him again. Although if he was wearing the cape and the mask he would be undoubtedly easy to spot anyway. Just as soon as he finished however he was standing up, looking away from her all too soon.
Then he acted sort of funny, talking in a deep voice and posing and laughing. Alice didn’t see what he was laughing at, but soon found herself laughing as well; whether it was at him or with him was still up for debate. He was sort of weird, but for some reason, helped on by the fact that he had rescued her, she rather liked him. He was funny and goofy and possibly one of the most fun adults Alice had stumbled across here in Neverland, much more interesting than the adults in the real world anyway.
His announcement to save more lives was followed by a misplaced leap off the side of the rocks that made Alice laugh even harder. She skipped lightly over to the edge and looked down, seeing him laying in the puddle and trying (unsuccessfully) to stifle her laughter.
“Are you sure?” She asked, still giggling as she scrambled down the rocks toward him, temporarily forgetting that she could fly. Alice skidded to a stop right beside him, and seemed to consider him for a moment. She could either run away now and leave the strange adult behind…or she could introduce herself. She hesitated for a moment before crossing her arms and saying in a tone so serious it only came off as adorable, “Are you a superhero or a pirate? ‘Cause you’re dressed like a superhero on the outside and a pirate on the inside – kinda like an inside-out Oreo, or something.” Alice said thoughtfully, getting off topic quickly and almost completely forgetting her concerns.
Oh no I loved your post! Sorry it took me a little bit to reply ;A; |

Fortunately, it was not a big fall and he did not break any bones and all he really managed to get from it were a few bruises and cuts. His clothes were slightly soaked from the puddle he had fallen into, but it was a trivial issue at the moment. He adjusted his mask slightly before looking back up and watching the young girl climb down the rocks toward him. “Ah, be careful!” Ivan put one hand out to assist her, but paused when he realized that she was already on the ground. Raising a brow, he wondered why exactly she did not fly down, perhaps the ability to fly was limited and they had to recharge with more fairy pixie dust. Scratching his head in deep thought, he had forgotten about his initial plan of returning to his ship before his captain realized that he was gone. The little girl started asking him if he was a pirate or a superhero and then making a rather adorable metaphor about his outfit and Oreos. Behind the mask, his face was incredibly red at how cute this redhead was, he just wanted to squeeze those cute little cheeks of hers.
“I’m a---” He paused for a moment when he realized that this young girl belonged to the Lost Boys, which were considered the enemies to pirates. The last thing he wanted to do was scare her away, he actually wanted to be her friend. Sure, his crew was well known as the ‘good pirates,’ but he was not sure if this young girl had any knowledge of that. Ivan cleared his throw, struck another pose and laughed heroically, “I’m a superhero! The Amazing Maskman!” Behind the mask, he had a troubled expression and he felt like slapping himself for coming up with such a ridiculous name and continuing with this ‘superhero’ charade. He looked back to the girl and wondered what her response would be. For some reason he wanted to impress her to the best of his ability, but right now he felt like he was acting like a fool. At least he managed to make the cute girl laugh a few seconds ago.
Snapping his fingers, he put one hand on her shoulder and inched closer to her, “H-Hey! How would you like to be my sidekick?” He asked her in a nervous tone. In his mind, he was asking her to be his ‘little sister.’ But since he was still pretending to be a superhero, a sidekick was the next best thing. What was he thinking? He had to return to his ship, but now he was trying to get this little girl to play with him and have an adventure in this dangerous skull-shaped cavern. “What is your name, young lady?” Ivan asked her in a kind tone, mentally beating himself up for continuing this conversation.

| [atrb=cellpadding,0][atrb=cellspacing,0][atrb=style,width: 300px; padding: 10 10 10 10;][atrb= valign, top] Her eyes widened as he announced that he was in fact a superhero and she started bouncing from one foot to the other in excitement. “Oh this is so cool! I’ve never met a real live superhero before! Hey, does that mean you can fly too? Or can you shoot light out of your eyes, or make it rain?” She was talking so fast that it was hard to follow her words, but they hardly mattered. Her emotions were clear from her shining eyes and her eager expression.
This time his touch didn’t make her tense up, in fact she completely trusted him already. That was just the sort of person Alice was; maybe it was because she was still young and naïve but he seemed so nice and impressive she just trusted him on instinct. She didn’t think any longer about the pirate clothes underneath his costume, or even his so far lack of abilities, in fact when he asked her to be his sidekick she was honored.
“Are you serious?” She asked in shock, the only thing keeping her from jumping up and down more was his hand on her shoulder. “Of course, of course of course of course!!!” Alice looked positively thrilled, as if someone had told her Christmas had come early and was being combined with Halloween. He had her completely now, he was something of a god in her eyes. First he had rescued her than she found out he was a superhero and now he thought she was good enough to work with him!
She could see it now – Her and The Amazing Maskman fighting crime! Of course Alice knew next to nothing about the sort of crime that went on in Neverland, and had even less of an idea how to go about fighting it. But even just running around in a costume would be fun!
At the question Alice grinned, sure that he was only asking so that he could bestow her with a fitting superhero name. It would only be polite to ask the man his name as well, but Alice knew that any superhero who wore a mask wouldn’t want their identity known.
“My name is Alice Paige Mayheart,” She said proudly, even though no one really called her that anymore, but she still liked the sound of it. She continued on to give him her nickname, which almost everyone at the lost camp called her, “But really it’s just Myth, that’s what everyone calls me, anyway.” Alice said with a grin, rather proud to be alluding to all the many friends she had.
“Hey, I know! You should come and meet all of my friends! I bet they would all love you; we’ve never had a superhero in the hideout before!” Without waiting for his consent she grabbed his hand and started pulling him toward the cave exit.
