The fever that was the whispered rumors of shards of Captain Pan's map being spotted throughout Neverland had spread even to the ears of the mermaids. The story of that particular treasure map was so that most believed it to be little more than an entertaining myth, something that nobody believed would ever interest the mermaids.
But Delta was intrigued, as was her sister Coral, though the two of them were pretty peculiar, as far as mermaids went. Transforming her favored tail for her less appealing pair of long slender legs, so as to appear human, Delta made her way through the center of Pirate Cove. Her movements awkward due to the pale blue fabrics that made the dress that she was wearing, attire that Delta rarely had any need to wear, and the lingering effects of her transformation. It made her legs feel heavy and unnatural. Though she hardly stood out, compared to the sea-legs of sailors and the intoxication of the wenches.
Trying to inhale through her nose as little as possible due to the stench of crowding pirates, Delta murmured to her sister, "where do you suppose we should search first?" There was warmth to Delta's voice, a reflection on the excitement that was buzzing away within her, her imagination engrossed in fantasies of treasure, skeletons and age-old curses.

The transformation from her fishtail to a pair of long slender human legs always felt painful. It is as if every step on land felt as though she is walking on a path of needles, stabbing her soles off. However, thankfully, it is not reality. Smoothing out any wrinkles on her aquamarine dress, her emerald hues were attentive towards her comrade and mer-sister, Delta. ”Hmm, there is so many compartments, it could have been hidden anywhere,” she responded, stroking her chin in a very thoughtful way, her eyes dazzling with mischief. Her eyes roaming throughout the twisting and elongated towers of the abandoned tree house, she crossed out any dead ends.
She craned her neck towards Delta, keeping their voices down to whispers in case of any eavesdroppers. ”We can start by going in,” she continued, wrinkling her nose in revulsion of the heavy pirate stench emitting from the place. Pinching her nose as if to keep the stench away, she said: “We better hurry, our smell is not as stinky and gross as theirs.
” She nodded towards the grouping of pirates, who looked as suspicious as they did. Inching away from the crowds, she kept a reasonable space from the pools of water that lead out into the sea. After all, merfolk don’t dwell well away from waters for too long. Their quest has a limited time-frame. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Indeed, despite their best efforts both sisters were attracting some attention from nearby pirates. Their gazes hungry, sweeping over their long hair, their curves only emphasized by the design of their dresses, the visible stretches of soft feminine flesh. Mermaids were made of prettier stuff than humans were. Delta, moving her pale hues away, pretended not to notice and instead focused her attention on the towering clock-tower that stood before them. The poor remains of the crocodile that had terrorized Hook for years. To Delta, it seemed as if Coral believed that the map might actually be inside the beast ... a curious idea but not one that Delta was going to disagree with. Only that it would be difficult finding a way into the beast without attracting more unwanted attention.
Chewing her bottom lip for a moment, Delta was not far behind Coral as the two made their way closer to the crocodile clock, her pale eyes roaming the beast's leather body for any idea over how to search it. Or better yet, sight of the map already within reach. But no suck luck for the latter.
"Perhaps we should try climbing it from behind?" Delta suggested, still in a hushed whisper. "We won't be as easily seen ... not until we try climbing into its mouth. But by then nobody should be able to stop us anyway."

Coral stopped midway, craning her neck over her shoulder to gaze at her fellow mer-sister. ”Hmm, interesting suggestion,” she started, her emerald beady eyes blinking for a moment as she pondered upon the suggestion. It does make sense to crawl behind the beast-like clock tower, rather than directing attention at two people entering the damned thing. ”Okay, we will climb from behind,” she grinned at Delta, pacing her steps at a slow rate, trying her best not to seek attention from the scavenging pirates. Of course, Coral and Delta are already gathering trouble from their incognito pirate getup, but walking right into a deceased trap? Who knows if the remains swallowed it up, the treasure map piece could be dwelling in the back, just chillin.
”Besides, if we’re caught, it’s not like it is hard to charm a pirate. They are men, after all,” she smiled, although, full of tricky mischief. Inching closer to the crocodile clock, she kept her attention at the scattered pirates. Coral even tried act like a pirate, occasionally emitting an “ARRRR” scowl to those who gave her questioning looks. Soon enough, she was inched close enough to hide her figure behind a rocky hedge next to the beast. ”Okay, I believe we are near enough to sneak in… but we have to do it quick,” she bit her lip, eyes upon the captain, who looked sinister as he twirled his mustache. ”.. but once we go in.. there is no water for hospitality..” she trailed, in which the two mermaids have a high chance of shriveling up if they keep to their human forms for too long.
