This is a story that has been told many times from many different mouths about a boy who never wanted to grow up, who ran away with fairies to a wondrous place called Neverland and was a boy forever (or so was told by the end of the books). We even thought that Captain Hook had been defeated. But no, Hook had escaped the crocodile having torn a hole through its stomach with his right-claw-hand. He later stuffed and mounted the thing with a great clock in its large mouth to watch over his pirate kingdom. In the meanwhile Peter Pan had gone off and grown up to marry Wendy's daughter Moira and have two kids of his own... two children that would later be stolen away by Hook for revenge. In that while Peter returned to Neverland, relearned about being a Lost Boy, defeated Captain James Hook, and returned home with his children.
There is another story however, whispers of one - a mere rumor merely - that years passed, and Peter grew much older, and his children were away in college. He began to fear death creeping up on him. So the rumor goes that Peter Pan abandoned his family and returned to Neverland, and so the story goes that Peter picked up Hook's coat and hat, thus declaring himself the new Captain. Pan had forgotten the simple joys of childhood and, having been hardened by harsh realities and the trials of growing up; so he returned to Pirate Cove, returned to Neverland and terrorized what redskins and lost children were there and any that arrived later. He even stopped believing in fairies.
None of the lost children wish to speak of this story, this rumor. They wish to believe that Peter was forever the hero they looked up to. Pirates fear both the child and the Man, but anyone from that time has long since grown up and gone away or died. The rumor is nothing but legend, lore swept under a rug and used by the lost den mothers to scare the children. But no one really knows the truth... is this a secret of Neverland? Can you uncover the answers?
