Night in neverland never felt short, despite the fact that night could last anywhere from a few seconds to days on end. Migisi was in the camp, poking at the embers of a fire in a pit that was beginning to die down. There were plenty of other tribe members about, not her sister though – Meo was out, hunting or something, but certainly not nearby. This made Migisi uncomfortable; see sometimes she wished that she was a part of the Piccaninny tribe instead of the Scorpions. But she’d been born here; this was her home (cruddy as it was). She didn’t like living close to pirates (though she didn’t mind pirates – they were a little loud and rambunctious), between a rock and a hard place some would say, what with the mountains being so close.

The fairy - for that was what the creature was - fluttered near the Scorpion camp. It knew that it probably shouldn't be intruding on the more aggressive tribe, but something had caught its attention.
Umbra landed lightly on a rock and peered into the camp. Usually it didn't come near this area, since it was so much less comfortable than places like the. Neverwood or pretty like Rainbow Falls, but it could be fun to explore. Besides, the redskins had fire.
Even though Umbra was a dark talent, it still found flames mesmerising. Which was why it found the embers of one of the young Scorpion girls' so fascinating. Although it was not a particularly naïve fairy, Umbra's curiosity still won out over its voice of reason, which was saying what a bad idea it was to mess around in the Scorpion camp. So it jumped off the rock and flew swiftly to the girl and her fire, touching down on the ground beside both.[/style] |

The appearance of the fairy was sudden and surprising, she didn't see the tiny thing appearing from the darkness - he, no she, well it was colored much like the shadows about the place, but the faint blue glow stood out against the ground. "Oh!" Migisi jumped slightly, almost falling off the stone she was seated on. The stick she'd been using as a prod fell from her hand, she hastily picked it back up. "You are far from home." She stated fairly obviously, but with concern on her face. She glanced hesitantly over her shoulder. "You should not be here, if others see you might get crushed."

Because fairies are so small, they can only fit one emotion in at a time, and its curiousity about the fire had overridden any fear it might have had of a member of the Scorpion tribe. Luckily the girl seemed kind and not likely to squash it.
But that didn't mean other humans wouldn't. As the girl voiced her concerns, Umbra began to feel worried. Embers were nice, but being crushed wasn't. "I wanted to see the fire, miss," it explained in the soft, tinkling fairy language. "Would you mind so much if I hid under your hair, so the others might not notice me?" It looked at her with hopeful eyes as it wrung its tiny hands anxiously.[/style] |

She tilted her head, being a Scorpion meant that she couldn't understand fairy language. She was not raised to be friendly - in fact if her sister was about she would have probably already stepped on poor Umbra - and certainly knew very little about the tiny pixie folk that lived on the island. Save that they were quite easy to get rid of. The main concern of the Scorpions was to take the Piccaninny land. She would have much prefered being born a Piccaninny - sometimes she wondered if she could go run away and join them... probably not. "I don't know what you're saying but come hide." She offered a pouch that hung from her hip - it would sufficiently shield the blue-glowing creature. "You must have been cold to come to the fire."
