this was now the fifth time that bunny had been kidnapped in the last three months.
sighing, bunny was sitting on an uncomfortable rock at that moment, feeling as if she was tired of having to play the damsel in this little rivalry that parker and erebos were having between each other. it was decided some time ago that bunny was apparently the perfect bate for parker. erebos would often find bunny somewhere in the woods or one of the many favorite places that she would spend her time, tie her up and carry off with her to the same location where parker would come to find her after erebos had sent a nicely written ransom note. the first time, bunny had been terrified! erebos had once been her friend and now he was a pirate. now, she had nothing against pirates but being kidnapped by one was something quite frightening during the first go around.
now, it was all about the motions. at that moment in fact, bunny was thinking about how uncomfortable it was to be tied up while wearing a skin tight body suit and sitting on jagged rock. her backside was going to be sore for hours. "ouch. i really wish this wasn't so uncomfortable. couldn't you just kidnap me and take me to your cabin room on your ship where i could take a nap or something instead of this?" she asked erebos as she tried to wriggle free but he was good with knots. she knew she would not be wiggling free no matter how much she tried to snake around against the ropes. her charms didn't work either. if she tried flirting, erebos would just flirt back and kiss her while tied up. this was not something she wanted to push for.

kidnapping bunny was as easy as pillaging. finding her in the neverwoods was one thing, but capturing the little white rabbit was a whole different story. the first time erebos had plucked her from her natural habitat she was jumpy and tense like a captured animal. now it was almost a routine for the pair, along with his brother too, who took on the role as bunny’s savior time after time again. erebos had written plenty of ransom notes in the past, one demanding more after the other. the rivalry between the two grimly’s had festered since they had first been acquainted to neverland. at first it was just playful banter most brothers develop, but as the neveryears turn into what seems to be like decades their quarrel worsened like an irritated rash. poor bunny foo foo, being all caught up in the middle of the mess.
erebos wrapped his strong arms around bunny as he continued to tie the teenage girl against marooner’s rock, the usual location where ‘saving the damsel’ takes place. he was fast and diligent when it came to tying rope, thanks to the past year or so of learning the art of sailor knots. the pirate made sure that bunny was held tight against the rock, with the rope binding against her skin tight body suit and probably at the most awkward places of her physique. currently the water was creeping up her legs, and sooner or later it will consume most of the lower half of her body. “marooner’s rock not comfortable enough for you? but my last captive enjoyed the jagged edges,” erebos remarked smoothly, finishing up a knot just below bunny’s bosom. “your welcome to take a nap here if you really desire sleep. but that would ruin the fun”, he added as he stroked the crown of her head before giving her a big ol’ smooch on the cheek.
he then reviewed his rope work with clear admiration. “i think this is my finest attempt at binding you. last few times i made the mistake of loosening the grip,” erebos commented off-handedly, his eyes slid up to hers with contentment.

bunny had a hunch that erebos had a sick obsession with seeing her tied up. she looked down at his nimble fingers working at the knotting and ties of the rope around her body and had to raise an eyebrow at him. she had to wonder if he got off on seeing her tied to the rock and looking like a helpless damsel in distress. parker had commented a couple of times how he so enjoyed coming to rescue her when she was tied up. that didn't surprise her. groaning though, she tried to wiggle and make the rope slide out from around her bosom and it wasn't working. "this is so uncomfortable erebos. honestly. next time, i rather take your cabin then this jagged rock... it's hurting my ankles," she explained.
if her feelings were not going to be put into consideration, she was going to start complaining to someone about always being the kidnap bait. this was becoming ridiculous! if the both of them were a little nicer about it all, she wouldn't complain. but now she was just getting the short end of the stick. it wasn't as if parker was even a true knight in shining armor. it wasn't as if the both of them road out into the sunset together. he would grab her, toss her over his shoulder and carry her off, and usually complain about her fat ass while doing so. no, she wished that things were a little more romantic perhaps but they weren't. even her pirate villain lacked a certain finesse that she hoped for.
"too tight," she grumbled, wiggling until she ended up falling over onto the rock with a thump and groaning. "gah! i need a better villain and hero. this is becoming too routine and i don't get anything out of this in the end," she sighed, closing her eyes and shaking her head. maybe if erebos actually gave her a good kiss... no no! she had to get those thoughts out of her head. instead, she began to wiggle like a worm; her body only pushing up against the ropes making them tighter.

on the other hand, playing games like this was what erebos had a great facility for. not just a facility, an additional penchant in fact. he had a disposition for playing the villainous pirate, while bunny plays the damsel in distress and parker the unlikely knight in black armor. he enjoyed the exhilaration of inflicting pain upon someone else and watching his captive attempt to wriggle here and there. in fact bunny was only making it worse as she writhed against the binding ropes. “wriggling only makes it worse,” erebos commented off-handedly with a smile he often gave when he was teasing her. a sort of playful smirk rather than a smile. “of course in my perspective, it makes the situation better.” aside from her incapability to break loose, the ropes also accentuated certain body features of hers.
he glanced to bunny, taking advantage of the brief silence that drifted between them as he studied her in what would seem to be bondage. in truth the image was pretty exciting for him, as well for parker, who’d often admire the artwork from afar before intervening the situation. “i guess the location will change next time… if parker decides to show up here before the water claims your life,” he answered lightly before stroking the back of his hand against her cheek. to be honest, erebos wasn’t intending to have bunny meet an early death. they were certainly on odd terms as far their friendship goes, but the point of her being kidnapped was to get a rise out of parker… if that was possible.
a smile crept onto his lips as she complained about getting a better hero and a better villain for her little fairytale. “my apologies for my lack of finesse. i could’ve tied you against the bow of my ship, and have you be our new figurehead,” he said as he took a seat next to the captive bunny, invading whatever personal space that remained. “and what exactly do you hope to gain out of these games of ours? would you fancy a kiss from the villain, or a kiss from the unlikely hero?” his smile suddenly became wicked as he held her chin up toward his face. “personally i’m waiting for the stockholm syndrome to kick in.”

slowly, bunny turned her gaze up at erebos. she could see him looking down at her with that smirk on his lips as he told her that she was making it worse. she didn't appreciate his condescending tone or how cold he was being toward her. she was a good sport! he was lucky for that much. at least she didn't complain all the time about the frequent kidnappings. it could have been so much worse. she could have always screamed like a maniac and made things difficult on him but she didn't. she figured she was a pretty well behaved captive. "oh ha ha, erebos. gosh, i miss when you were nice and a lost boy instead of a mean ole' pirate," she mumbled, wiggling despite his warnings of making it worse on herself. like she ever listened to logic. pssh.
the silence between them lasted for a moment, where bunny caught erebos staring at her body for a moment or two. probably admiring his handiwork. his skills at knots were getting better. the first kidnapping had not gone this smoothly when it came to his craftsmanship at tying her up. now, one might have called it a work of art. bunny simply called it a pain in her ass. quite literally so. she was busy trying to remove her hands from the bindings when he got down besides her and rubbed his cold hands against her cheek, making her look up into his eyes, eyebrow raised. "uh huh. you know he'll be here soon enough," she shot back at erebos. parker always came to save her. even if he wasn't the best kinda hero in bunny's eyes, he was still her hero in some form of the word. she knew he would come and save her, come hell or high water!
as erebos began to get closer, bunny's cheeks began to get even redder. she was the type who often broke personal boundaries however, when it came to someone breaking hers, she wasn't always so comfortable with it. like right now, erebos being so close made her a little uncomfortable. it made her wiggle a little bit away from him, especially when his hurtful words came out. the moment that he questioned who she liked and what she wanted from him, her eyes glowed with fury as she stared hard at him. "me gain anything?! oh please. this is just you and parker's kinky little fantasy involving me that i keep getting dragged into. not jealous that i might like parker more, are you?" she asked him, as he pulled her chin up so that they were inches apart.
at that moment, bunny smirked at him. "how do you know i don't already have it?" she teased.

there was nothing more tantalizing than an unwilling party. the dancing in the dark, and the unknown was as thrilling and as satisfying to him as any child meandering the aisles of a sweet store. the point was, there was an evident delight in his eyes at the image of bondage bunny, only making matters worse with her squirming. “pirates can’t afford to be nice, especially toward the captured damsel in distress”, erebos smirked viciously after that, only the poisonous undertones of his smile went unnoticed for the most part. “but don’t take it personally, bunny,” he added with that odd softness. that gentleman’s voice. the grimly had abandoned whatever remnants were left from his lost boy years and replaced them with a pirate-y version of himself. he was still the playful boy he once was, but he couldn’t possibly be nice after some years of hardship and booty snatching (whichever booty may apply here). to business now.
bunny lacking logic wasn’t much of surprise, especially after erebos had just informed her that her struggling would only make the ropes tighten. he wasn’t going to complain though, and not just because she was catering to his wildest fantasies by doing so. this time there was little to no chance of her escaping save for two options; either wait for parker to untie her breaches or have erebos sever the rope with the dagger hidden within the inner folds of his left boot. the latter wasn’t exactly the ideal conclusion of this little game of theirs, but if parker doesn’t meet his end of the deal in time erebos was more than compliant to release her only with a favor or two. not to mention that screaming wouldn’t do any good for her too. “how soon is soon, and how do you know that he’s going to show up this round? you have too much faith for that impossible brother of mine,” he remarked with a natural curiosity for her dependence for parker. it was a little too sickening for erebos to handle.
jealousy is a funny little emotion mixed within this brotherly quarrel of theirs. erebos wasn’t exactly green-eyed over bunny’s close relationship with parker, but on the other hand he wouldn’t really admit it if it were true. “jealous? no no, far from it,” erebos quickly dismissed her accusation of jealousy as he returned to the subject of stockholm syndrome. “if you have it, you have a funny way of showing it,” he remarked with a smirk, his hand still holding her attention quite literally. he moved in to give her a quick peck on the lips, in case parker was watching in a neighboring tree like the creeper he is.

bunny was a little horrorstruck that he told her not to take this personally. how should she not take it personally?! this was aimed directly at her. granted, she was sure that most of it was aimed toward his brother but there was still a part of it that involved bunny or she wouldn't be there tied up like his personal little bondage slave or captive. it made her scowl at him for a moment and look away from him harshly. "yeah right. if this wasn't some what personal, i wouldn't be playing the bait for parker. there has to be a reason why it's always me. why don't you kidnap his fairy? he cares more about her than he does me. and she would be easier to deal with. you can capture her in a glass jar," she shot at him.
it wasn't so much bunny's lack of logic that made her wiggle against the ropes. it was the fact that she was hard headed and headstrong. she did what she wanted and she was sure she could slip out! she had slipped out before! or at least made the ropes budge some what so that they weren't so tight but the truth was that erebos had gotten better at his trade. his seaman knots were impeccable now. there was no way she was getting out of that rope unless parker got her out himself or unless erebos was nice enough to let her go. she wasn't too sure about either of those options. parker would rescue her, sure, but there were times he just carried off with her, still tied up for a while until they got back to the lost boy camp where he would show off his prize to the other lost boys and recount how he rescued her. the girls would swoon, the boys would cheer and of course, bunny was the butt of everyone's jokes after that for a while. "he might not be the best hero but he's the only one i've got. he'll come, i know he will," she mumbled, looking away from erebos.
when erebos denied any feelings of jealousy for her though, she didn't know why, but it made her stomach hurt a little. it made her look down at her bound hands and shrug. "i don't know... we use to be friends, all three of us. and then you just left and it's like... you abandoned me too you know," she shot at him, a little fierceness in her voice at the end. maybe it bothered her that he had gone and left her behind. she didn't want to be a pirate but she didn't like the thought of abandonment either! she had desertion issues she needed to deal with which pushed out of her mind the moment he did what he did, which only lasted less than a second and was quickly gone. it made her scowl hard at him. "that was all for show, wasn't it?" she asked him, her voice low and filled with hurt.

how could he have forgotten? he didn’t really consider clover into the equations. true, his brother actually had a piece of a heart to care for the fairy, but erebos didn’t particularly see the appeal in capturing her. probably because he had an interest for bunny more. “encasing her in a glass lamp doesn’t give me the same excitement as tying you up against this rock,” erebos admitted with an almost reminiscent air coming over him. once or twice he had captured the little fairy, and what was his result? him and clover, playing checkers while waiting for parker to show up. it was pretty anticlimactic.
however erebos, for his part, didn’t really consider the feelings of those he had left behind. it might have been selfish of him for abandoning his friends a few years back, but he figured that no one would really take into heart of his desertion. well, apparently bunny took it into heart which erebos didn’t anticipate, nor did he ever notice. his intentions were to abandon the ideology of the lost children fueled by a desire to grow up from that familiar peter pan complex. to be honest he didn’t want to leave his friends, but on the other hand his relationship with his brother wasn’t the healthiest even from the start. he wasn’t the least ashamed for his choice, though. he had purpose, he had something in his life that made it worth living. erebos enjoyed every fucking minute of this pirate life he had carved out for himself, and he wasn't going to stop just because bunny missed him.
“leaving was for the best,” his tone was strangely moderated as he spoke, though a thick, velvet tone ran through his words despite the eerie calm. it was almost as if traveling the seven seas had hardened his emotions. “you could’ve came along with me, but you chose to remain as a lost girl,” erebos continued with a fixed stare on his white haired captive. his eyes refused to leave hers. with a quick sweep of his hands he worked nimble fingers against the edges of her face with an intent to keep her attention immobile from his. his depleted patience for his brother’s arrival had no affect on how he looked at the girl in front of him now. with a slight chuckle he shook his head, “what makes you think that?” he asked, being enigmatic with his answer as bunny was earlier. “i could give you another one just to prove to you its not for show, and this time it won’t be one of those childish thimbles you adore so much.”

oh wow, big surprise. so erebos got excited when he tied her up. this was far from shocking. she knew it to be true because he did it so often. if he didn't like it, he wouldn't have spent the hour he did tying her up in the first place. he worked hard and quick on the knots but still, it took him an hour. he had her knotted up like a piece of fetish artwork on display so she could only assume that this was what he wanted her for. tying her up like a prized possession worth stealing. parker would steal her back, this was true, but not like it mattered much. bunny was a pawn in their game. she doubted either of the two of them truly cared for her. if they did, they wouldn't have made her feel as bad as they did all the time. now, bunny was a happy go lucky girl but if anyone could hurt her feelings, it was those two horrible twins.
when erebos spoke again though, bunny felt like he had just shanked her in the heart or made her walk the plank into crocodile infested and murderous mermaid waters. it hurt just to hear him, so she tried her best not to. she closed her eyes and shook her head looking away from him, trying to push the hateful, harmful words out. "just shut up," she cried out, eyes closed tight, head shaking back and forth like a stubborn child, which in a way, she was. but despite herself, bunny was becoming a tad bit more mature with each new thimble she acquired. one day, she would grow up if these emotions continued to manifest inside of her. you can't stay a child forever when you are indulging in adult activities...
however, her shaking stopped when he grabbed her face and made her look at him. their eyes both pools of red blood that she had always associated with her own. something about them felt like home when ever she looked into them, but he was no longer her friend. by definition, he was foe and looking into those eyes of his was nothing but a pure betrayal. he was not the sweet lost boy she once knew who set up her hammock for her and let her crawl into his when ever a nightmare came. he wasn't the kind older brother type who wiped peanut butter off her cheek or made her the nicest gifts at holiday. he was a blood thirsty monster of the boy he once was... and he wasn't even a boy anymore. erebos had grown up.
"i don't want anything from you anymore. not a thimble or a kiss," she said, her voice sullen, her eyes almost filling with tears.

his jaw clenched unbidden as she spat at him with sullen words and threatening tears filling the corners of her eyes. his brow furrowed, erebos stared at her eyes as he studied the pools of blood, identical to his as well as parker’s. it was slowly coming back to him, this usual chipper girl trying to hold on to the memory of the three of them as the best of friends, often tumbling into danger one after the other. he had once upon a time enjoyed those blissful moments of when he hung her hammock up for the first time or when she crawled to him whenever she had a nightmare. now those moments were childish memories, and erebos had no intention to revisit them. although he hated himself for hurting bunny by abandoning her and their friends, lest of all his apathetic attitude toward her emotions, but he couldn’t blame the animal that he had become.
thoughts flashed across his mind of how he could make bunny happy, despite her current tied up situation, but the pirate quickly dismissed them just as fast as he had dismissed her feelings. holding her seemed like a lifetime away. everything felt numb to him, everything except for bunny, how she had averted her eyes away from him and the way she had rejected him with that glowering tone of hers. he didn’t mean to make her feel worthless, or a pawn used between him and parker. it was only a game, right? begrudgingly, he let go of her face, shifting his feet as he left his post besides her. "i don't really know what you want me to say here, bunny." he said her name this time; it did not particularly sound sweet, or lovely in any way. his hand went to his hair, pulling at it in a familiar fashion - playing with his hair calmed him down sometimes. “do you want me to apologize?" he would not do it.
ignorance would be his only friend if he only willed it, but erebos hated admitting his faults, and anything that indicated he was not the person he once was. truth was erebos was damaged goods. but if he could help it, he would not liken himself to those who blindly apologize. he stood tall for a moment as his legs remained still, feeling the creeping water rise as it reached his knees and began to consume parts of bunny’s tied up body. "you know, i never meant to push you away.” slowly, he went to his knees and the cold water pressed against his lower abdomen. he kept his stance in a low crouch. the closer you are to the ground, the softer the fall. “things change, people change, and shit happens,” erebos was trying to give her reason, but failing by doing so. sentimentality was clearly not his vice.

every word he said only stabbed her deeper. why was he so mean to her?! could he seriously just toss her away like an old toy that he had outgrown? had he seriously outgrown her and just left her behind like this? it hurt to know that this is what happened but it was the truth. at that moment, as the cold water began to rise in level, she felt like she was going to heave all over the rock but looked away instead and let some of the tears run down her cheeks, as she couldn't hold in her emotions any longer. the moment that the water began to get higher though, she whimpered. it had never gotten this far. usually by now, parker would come to save her! where was he? was he upset?! had he been watching from a far and seen what erebos had done just to turn away and leave her to her fate?
"no no no," she shook her head, trying to move backwards but it made things worse. she was already on her knees which meant that the water was already at breast level with bunny and slowly rising. "this is just a game... this is just a game," she chanted to herself in a low whisper her eyes shutting tightly, shaking her head at what was happening. he was so near her but so far away. the erebos she once knew would have never put her in harm's way like this and worse, bunny was scared of drowning. the mermaids were in these waters and they were dangerous. what if they grabbed her leg and yanked her under. drowning was the scariest thing ever, she thought. even more so than being pushed into crocodile infested waters.
"parker isn't coming to save me," she said, opening her eyes and looking at erebos, her eyes redder than normal, her face covered in tears. "he...he isn't coming," she said. it was as if she had just found out that there was no such thing as santa claus, the easter bunny and even the tooth fairy. all at once, it was as if erebos had just shattered a piece of her innocence. instead of crying more though, she simply pushed her face into his chest and closed her eyes. she couldn't wrap her arms around him but this was the closest thing to a sort of cuddle or affection he would get from her.

it’s easy to say when you stop playing with someone else, you naturally grow up and grow apart, inevitably becoming different. but is that really true? if one actually thought about the changes inside oneself – how the years pass by and how instantaneously easy it is to change into someone different – that’s not really true, is it? erebos made different choices but, fundamentally, he still believes, in the deepest of ways, in the same things. he still valued the same ideas from which he was a lost boy. growing up didn’t change him, but rather it was the choices that he made along the way that did. erebos lacked the sort of logic to realize he was still the same erebos. he had grown up and although he had grown apart from bunny after just a matter of a few years, he could still feel his heartstrings being pulled when he heard her whimper and her sudden understanding that parker was not coming. reality had struck bunny hard and he was the catalyst of a certain shatter of innocence.
and that sort of killed erebos a little bit, that he has to take responsibility for it. that he had made all these decisions that led them one step and another away from each other until one day he had made it his own sick game to play with bunny’s emotions. looking at her now, really looking, he could see all the wrong he had caused to her. she was frightened, hurt and damaged by his own inconsiderate words, and now she was facing the dangers of the rising water. the pirate erebos couldn’t afford to liberate the lost girl from her bindings, but his lost boy persona itched to help his friend. leaving her in distress would only fuel her abandonment problem, and really… he knew his brother was a no-show today for whatever reason he could not fathom.
without a second thought or hesitation, erebos listened to his long lost voice of reason and decided on releasing bunny from her apparent doom himself. with his hand searching for the dagger hidden in the inner folds of his boot, erebos managed to pull out the weapon seconds later and hastily worked his way into severing the rope. he was careful not to physically wound bunny by doing so (he had already caused enough emotional wounds as it were), and before long he shoveled her into his arms once she was free from her bondage. erebos had managed to get her out of the water before dangers of drowning had started to make an effect, holding the frightened, drenched bunny close. “i’m sorry,” erebos wanted to bite back an apology, but he knew it was long overdue. he had once thought that she didn't need him, that she would do just fine on her own. but here she was, scared shitless. “this will be the last time i’ll play this game of mine. i wont hurt you again.”

it wasn't parker's fault that he wasn't there. at that moment, he was busy getting drunk with clover and taking his clothes off to turn her little fairy heart on. he probably hadn't contemplated why his brother had not been in his room or on the ship when he had gone over to steal the rum that he was now using to party with clover. parker probably didn't have a clue that bunny had been kidnapped today. he had spent his day playing games and pretending to be a pirate and probably hadn't been in his room for hours where the note was hanging by his bed informing him that bunny was in the clutches of an evil pirate. his brother!
the moment that erebos broke her free of her binds though, bunny's arms shot out and wrapped around his shoulders, holding onto him hard, not wanting to let go. she needed erebos now like she had always needed parker. at that moment, she was trading her knight in shining armor for the villain that had caused her the pain in the first place but in her mind, all she needed was a hero, even if he was the unlikely hero in her tale. "i'm c-c-cold," she whimpered into him, her vulnerability coming out heavy. she laid in his arms though and erebos didn't seem to struggle when it came to getting her out of the water and taking her onto the near by rock which was free of being overrun by the over tow. they were safe now but bunny still didn't feel it. her mind was filled with the thought of being drowned by viscous mermaids.
when words of their game ending came out of erebos mouth, she allowed herself that moment to look up. her eyes still watery from the fear of dying and him being the cause of it. "if we don't, when will i ever see you again?" she asked, almost sounding more petrified at the thought of loosing him forever than having died just moment ago from the mermaid infested waters. she threw her arms around him tightly and squeezed hard, breaking into a horrible crying spell. "erebos!! please don't leave me! i promise i won't cry anymore! i'll be good. i won't fight and i won't scream or wiggle anymore. just.... just don't leave me okay?! please!!" she cried out to him.
first he hurts her and now he threatens to never see her again?! didn't he know how much he hurt her? couldn't he see?

erebos always thought himself so slick, a rolling stone, a tumbleweed in the wind, or something of the like. pirates weren't meant to be landlocked, not by anything, especially not by feelings. he wasn’t a land-lubber lost boy anymore, and at some point he had to be back on those beautiful blue waters with his crewmates. he wished he could convince bunny to come out on the ship with him, but her dedication to his former circle of friends barred those chances. what a life it could be, having her out at sea with him. he could feel her stir as she wrapped herself in against him, and the whimper that escaped her put erebos in a rueful mood. he often didn’t feel guilty, normally. but bunny wasn't normal for him. she was the exception to his pirate rulebook. her weight against his body was comforting, and she weighed less than the cannons he normally carried around the ship.
erebos brought bunny onto a nearby rock, securing the drenched girl into his chest while doing so. he cradled her into his lap as he sat down on the hard surface, his fingertips brushing away her wet locks of hair to reveal an equally – if not more – wet face. he frowned as he observed her swelled eyes and her pools of tears staining her porcelain skin. did he do this? of course he did, erebos had realized begrudgingly as he began to resent his earlier behavior of when he dismissed her in the most hurtful of ways. he couldn’t remember if he had ever emotionally wounded bunny like this, and even if he had this one definitely took the prize. he was now regretting his indignant words and his nonchalantly cold attitude prior, and above all his choice of leaving bunny in the first place, even without a proper goodbye.
he turned his gaze away from bunny momentarily, his gaze staring endlessly toward the lagoon’s waters. the mermaids were most active when the lagoon ran deep rather than shallow, particularly when they could use the depth of the waters to drown their victims in. erebos remembered that bunny was petrified of the merfolk, which explained her shaking save for her dripping wet state. “i’m not going anywhere, not right now nor anytime soon,” erebos reassured her with a half-smile as he pressed his forehead against hers. in truth he wasn’t sure how long his captain intended to remain in neverland. he could be leaving later today, or maybe neveryears later. “besides, these tears don’t even suit you,” erebos murmured while he pressed his hands against on both sides of her cheeks, whipping away the lingering tears.
